Snag Lists

What is a snag list?

A snag list reports any defects in a new build that prevent it from meeting acceptable industry standards. It identifies areas in your home that need further work, allowing you to move into your new home with peace of mind.

When do you need a snag list?

  • When coming to the end of a self-build project.
  • Purchasing a new home.

What do we check as part of a snag list?

You’ll be provided with photos of any reported defects. The following will be checked as part of a snag list:

  • Roof
  • External walls, fences and gates
  • Pipes
  • Cosmetics
    • Paintwork
    • Carpets and flooring
    • Baseboards
  • Driveway
  • Garage
  • Doors
  • Windows
  • Stairs
  • Kitchen
  • Bathroom
  • Insulation and heating
  • Plumbing
  • Electrics
  • Lighting

What are the most common snags in new builds?

Mistakes happen, but Energy Lads is here to help make sure they don’t turn into larger issues in time. We note poorly fitted doors, faulty brickwork pointing and
cosmetic issues as some of the most common snags.
